Liberation

For all my supporters, thanks for continuing to follow my blog through my hiatus. I’ve been so crazy busy lately, I can’t tell you.

Two weekends ago, I attended a philosophy workshop for yoga that was just amazing!!! I spent 8 hours on yoga that weekend: a bit too much. It was a tad overwhelming, to be honest, but now I know for next time.

As for fashion, the weather here has been weird lately. It’s alternately hot, humid, and foggy. I think it’s pretty difficult to dress for foggy weather since it’s cold in the morning and hot around lunchtime. But I simply wear comfy shoes (boots, anyone?) and bring a jacket.

For KamiJewels, I’ve been working on two custom orders: a Big Bang spiral bracelet and a Yoseob pendant and chain. Crazy fun, no? I won’t have time to take any special pics, but I’ll try to post some snapshots at the very least. I’d love to hear some input from you guys; don’t worry about offending me in the least, ok? πŸ˜€

I’m also working on a very special present for my sister that’s been delayed for forever, so keep tuned for that!

Here’s an idea to consider:

Consider this: Consumerism leads to owning too much stuff. Organization is key, but also consider maybe giving stuff away, donating it, and NOT buying new stuff to replace it. It can be liberating.

A few great articles summing this up more elaborately by Clive Hamilton, an Australian; check them out if you get a chance.Β http://www.clivehamilton.net.au/cms/media/documents/articles/The_Intensification_of_Consumerism.pdf

One Step Closer to My Dream

So, I just realized that, on Wednesday, I will have had this blog for a month! What a great accomplishment– no, seriously. Every day is one step closer to my dream.

I’m thinking of posting a longer, well-researched article then. Any thoughts, anyone?

I’d be super happy if I received some ratings or comments! If there’s anything you’re interested in, or heck–bores you to death– tell me please! πŸ™‚ I can only improve.

Project 4: My Custom-made Silk Bag

In 2010, I designed this bag to match the qi pao– a Chinese-style sheath dress–
I bought in China. Both were produced at the same store within a week.
I chose purple instead of the traditional black, gold, or red for a unique panache.
What do you think? πŸ™‚

I Am Not My Body

So, some of youΒ  may be wondering exactly what that title means. And I’d say, “Don’t think about it too much.”

Today, I had time to go to meditation today. It’s pretty rare that I get a chance to go, with my hectic schedule and all. Strangely enough, Tuesday meditation days never operate smoothly for me… And I wonder why that is…

That’s not to say I had a “bad day,” because I didn’t. Perhaps I’m just reading too much into it, and there’s nothing really strange about Tuesdays at all. All I know is that every time I go, something is “off.” One time, I was a half hour late because the flier for the class was incorrect. And I did my best not to dwell on my chagrin during the whole practice. Another time there was absolutely no parking! I couldn’t believe it was so crowded on a weekday; after all, it wasn’t party-night Friday. This time, I left the house without my license! Luckily, I hadn’t even left my cul-de-sac before I made this realization.

As you can see, matters work themselves out in the end. And perhaps they needed to happen in order for me to let go– to realize that I have no control over it.

In reality, none of us have control over anything in our lives– except maybe our attitudes.

So the next time you find a zit on your face, or worry about having crow’s feet, just let it go.You’ll be amazed at what a difference it makes.

And besides, everyone else is so busy worrying about the same thing, they aren’t really paying so much attention to you as you think. And if they are, then… you might have something else to think about.

Thanks for reading~

KJ, Day 4: Heart-shaped earrings Dessert Plate

So, yesterday I got a camera in my hands, meaning to take a quick snapshot. That “quick snapshot” turned into about 10 pics… all of which were still snapshots… But here’s a display of what I call “Heart-shaped earrings dessert plate.” To clarify, I’m not selling the plate.

When I next have more time, I’ll try to set up something more elaborate.

The Art of Listening to Your Body

My plan today was to attend my 2nd-ever NIA class this morning… But strangely enough, I woke with this pain in my left foot.

What awful luck! is what I could’ve thought to myself. But instead, I let it go. Now, for those who know me, I’m not really the best “go-with-the-flow” person… but I’m learning.

I realize now that my foot pain can be attributed to the shoes I wore to the mall yesterday. I really need to throw those out. They’re gorgeous and have won me a million and one compliments, but they offer no support whatsoever!

Wearing them is about as smart as buying a pair of jeans that you’ll magically be able to fit into if you “just lose a few pounds” or shoes that hurt immediately when you put them on, but ohmygodtheylookgorgeousanddon’ttheymakemelooksleeksexyandtall?

So if you ever get a pain in your foot, neck, etc., pause for a second and ask yourself why you’re feeling this way. Your body is trying to tell you something. You never know if it’s not for the better.

And after all, there will be another NIA class next week.
